Damian is a passionate research analyst with a background in Defence and academia. He has a foundation in Economics and International Business and currently contributes to the National Institute of Strategic Resilience (NISR) and BETTER Timor in a research capacity.

As a research analyst at the National Institute of Strategic Resilience, Damian contributes to the 'Emerging Thought Leader Series'. He is also leading the design of communication products and strategy. Damian has a special research interest in Information operations and countering violent extremism.

As a research officer, Damian’s work at BETTER aims to promote the importance of education in East Timor through educational resources and infrastructure development. He contributes economics-based research alongside a fantastic research team to assess the effects of quantity and quality of education on development and why this should be an investment priority in achieving long-term economic growth and sustainability.
